Sick of pop-up ads and the likes when surfing the web?? Can't stand the 'in your face' flashing lights? Then maybe this will be of use. A computer mag did a test on 4 Ad Blockers, but as only 2 were free I will list only those 2 along with the Pros & Cons. They are...
www.guidescope.com Pro - your not required to D/L newfiltering instructions
Con - remote proxy transmits your surfing habits to Guidescope (scary)
Blocks - Banners, Flash ads and Cookies.
Page Display - 1.9 times faster
www.webwasher.com Pro - sophisticated settings let you fine-tune the blockade; only product that prevented mouse-trapping.
Con - it's cookie blocking and management features couldn't do the job.
Blocks - Banners, Pop-ups, Flash ads and mouse trapping.
Page display - 1.5 times faster.
(NOTE: I have not tried either Ad Blocker software so can't comment personally. If you do have any problems with either program then contact the party involved.)
shhhhhh you didn't see me.
